Allegations Of Animal Abuse Pile Up For Owner Of Mobile Pet Salon In Hillsborough
James Taylor has expressed concern about what happened to his 5-pound dog JUJU last weekend. Taylor claimed that the dog was bloodied and distressed after a groomer had taped Jujur’s lips shut.
Taylor explained, "My pet was clearly distressed. What I thought was a muff turned out to just be tape. Jujur's feet were visible red and damaged, with toenails that were too close to paws. This likely triggered Jujur biting.
Puppy Lux mobile pet salon employed the groomer in question.
James took Juju straight to the hospital for emergency medical care. In joining other individuals who have also made similar claims, he has accused Puppy lux of animal abuse. As a result, the San Mateo's office has initiated an investigation into the company for potential animal cruelty.
James described the injuries he observed, stating, "I noticed wounds near the joints, around the neck, and in the genital animal abuse awareness area. The cuts were severe enough to cause bleeding."
Jack Smithr, a customer of Puppy Lux, posted a review on Yelp, detailing how his pets were returned to him injured or unwell. Another customer took a Snapchat of a dog appearing to be in pain. They claimed that a groomer inserted an ear napkin by force.
Puppy Lux, in addition to the bad Yelp reviews and the fact that he was trusted to take care of their pets, wants his customers to know what the groomer said. James shared, "Jonny informed me that taping the mouth shut is a normal and acceptable method, claiming it is preferable to using a muzzle, which he believes can be harmful to dogs. He also stated that he personally applies this method to his own dog."
Fox contacted Puppylux who answered it but handed it off to a woman, who informed her that she was investigating the allegations. But when Puppy was brought up, she said it was a different entity and ended the call abruptly.
